John C. Hughes

John C. Hughes, 86, of 49 Lorna Street in Hollis died on May 3, 2002 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Nashua after a brief illness. Mr. Hughes was born on October 22, 1915 in Tyngsboro, MA the son of the late Robert and Lavina (Potter) Hughes. Before moving to Hollis in the early 1980's he worked at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee, MA for many years. He was an avid golfer. Family members include; two sons, Richard A. Hughes of Kingston, MA and Robert L. Hughes, retired Fire Chief, and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Marcella of Naples, Florida; four grandchildren, Christine Dalton of South Boston MA, Kenneth A. Hughes of Lowell, MA, Stephen R. Hughes of Chelmsford, MA and Alex Hughes of Kingston, MA; four great grandchildren; a brother, Russell Hughes and sister-in-law, Sylvia of Tyngsboro, MA; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hughes was predeceased by his wife, Florence M. (Rockwell) Hughes who died in July 2, 2000 and by a son, Kenneth R. Hughes, Air Force Captain.
