John Joseph Ingemi

John grew up in Andover Massachusetts with his mother Anna and his father Carlo. His father passed away when he was very young, and John took it upon himself to be the man of the house for his mother. He attended Andover High where he played football, baseball, and ran track. In 1982 John enlisted in the United States Navy, as an Operations Specialist attaining the rank of Second- Class Petty Officer. He served on the USS Klakring FFG-42 and directly supervised 17 subordinates in the correct use of weapons, sensors and communication equipment aboard the US Naval Warship while at sea. Additional responsibilities included commanding a team responsible for counter-terrorism operations, security, intelligence collection, and extraction. This team provided direct support for, and teamed with US Navy SEALS, EOD detachments, foreign and domestic government elements, and US Marine forces in forward deployed areas in the Middle East. The team was responsible for all warfare operations from sea, subsea, and air. John worked with cryptologic equipment, associated codes and coding material, and electronic warfare devices. He also qualified as a combat information center watch officer while on deployment.  Normally only officers qualify, John was the only enlisted watch officer on the ship during deployment.  He held a Secret level security clearance, received the Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Medal, and was Honorably Discharged.  John took great pride in having served in the US Navy and remained committed to the core values he learned as a young sailor.

John worked for various technology companies where he started out as a field sales representative and began immediately climbing to manager, Director of Sales, and Business Unit Leader before moving up to Chief Revenue Officer, and finally Vice President of Worldwide sales before he founded Sell and Thrive-- where he acted as CEO of his own consulting firm. John had a strong business and financial acumen packaged with his leadership and communication skills, that afforded him to run that endeavor full time. While being in business was his full time career, John worked as a call fire fighter/ Advanced EMT for the Hampstead Fire Department. He also attended the police academy and worked as a part time police officer for the Amherst Police Department.

When he wasn't working, John loved sitting in his hammock on the porch he built at his Atwood Farm house in Hampstead looking over his property and watching his horses and dogs. Each of his dogs were every bit a child to him, and he loved them all unconditionally. When he wasn't there, he liked to sit on his dock at his lake house and spend the day fishing. John was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed cruising around in his bass boat. He also enjoyed hunting, hiking, rock climbing, and snowshoeing. At one point as an adult he even played in an over 40 baseball league where he was a member of the Mud Hens.
John loved to read. His preferred genre was military history and historical figures, but was also interested in anything that had to do with his Italian heritage. He was in the process of writing a screenplay or documentary on one of his uncles who ran and won a marathon from the 1930's.

As part of his giving spirit, John volunteered his barn to the MSPCA as a foster home for horses in need of care or temporary homes. Family, friends, and loved ones from his past were the most important part of John's life.
