John J. “Jay” Brown, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away May 13, 2025.
John/Jay was one of nine children born to John Joseph and Janet (Dzwileski) Brown in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on March 3, 1936. John/Jay was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He loved his country, his family, sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and history.
John/Jay is pre-deceased by his son John J. “Jay” Brown, parents John and Janet Brown and siblings Honora "Noreen" Bellino, Thomas Brown, Alice Saunders and James Brown.
Surviving John/Jay are loving children James Brown (Lisa), Cynthia Hilinski (Edward), Charlene Brojakowski (Martin), Patricia Flannery, Thomas Brown, and Donald Brown. Grandchildren Lauren McDonough (Kevin), Jamielee Shanahan, Michael LaMas, Heather Dees (Lindsei), Benjamin Brojakowski, JT Brown (Kristin), Brittani McManus (Bryan), Michelle Louise Flannery (Joseph Tallent), Thomas Brown, and Daniel Brown. Great-grandchildren Summer, CJ, Wynn, Kevin, Stella, Ryan, Tillian, Asher, Camden, Juno, and Bryar. Brother and sisters Donald Brown (Jean), Catherine Brown, Janett Gilman (Steve), and Mary Ann Riccitello (Michael).
Dad, Grandpop, Jay, Uncle Jay you will be forever LOVED, MISSED and REMEMBERED! Peace be with you!
