John “Jack” Edward Duncan of Concord, NH passed away peacefully September 11, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Jack was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Ralph and Helen Duncan who predeceased him. He is survived by his spouse and partner in life of 42 years Karen Duncan, their two children Katie Duncan and Alex Duncan, his wife Natasha Duncan and his brother Ralph Duncan of Boston. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Wes, Dillon, Arya and Sophie Yeaton. His nieces Amy Green of Maine, her son Emmett and Rebecca Douville and her son Will Small and his extended family.
Jack loved his family and many of his friends became like family to him. He was always willing to share a shoulder, a hug, or a laugh- more than likely at his own expense.
He was retired from the FEMA Public Assistance Planner Office of Administration in New Hampshire, working most recently as a liaison with FEMA and their emergency management. You could say he had come full circle because of his early years as a disaster services volunteer with the American Red Cross.
And everyone knows Jack loved forecasting weather of all kinds. Blizzards especially held a place in his heart. That said, we hope his love of snowstorms and sense of humor do not converge on us next week!
Please join us in celebrating his life on Friday October 6th, 2023, at Bear Brook State Park Beach Pavilion from 3 pm to 5 pm. Please note that this is an outdoor but covered facility so come in comfortable clothes sporting your version of purple, Jack’s favorite color to share our stories and love.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Red Cross, American Kidney Fund, or the charity of your choice.
