John F. Keane

John F. Keane, 88, of 39 Bailey Avenue, Manchester died of natural causes on May 31, 2001 at Ridgewood Nursing Center in Bedford. Mr. Keane was born on January 21, 1913 in Manchester, NH the son of the late John and Dora (Robinson) Keane. He had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mr. Keane was a brickmason for 54 years and constructed many of the prominent buildings throughout the state. He was a former Secretary-Treasurer of the Bricklayers' Union and a Gold card Member of Local #1 of Northern New England. He was a US Army Veteran who served during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. Mr. Keane was a former President of Youngsville PTA and former President of the Youngsville Men's Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sweeney Post American Legion. He is the beloved husband of Gloria (Smith) Keane whom he had been married to for 59 years. He was the beloved father of two sons and two daughter, John F. Keane, Jr. of Somers, NY, Sandra Keane of Manchester, Pamela Lefebvre of Candia and Michael Keane of Nashua. He was the cherished grandfather of 7 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Hutchinson) Skinner. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 4, 2001 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church at 567 Manchester Road in Auburn. It will be followed immediately by a graveside service at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent to Boys Town of Nebraska, c/o Father Val J.
