John P. Korsak

John P. Korsak Jr. The Man, The Myth, The Legend John P. Korsak, 72, of Nashua, New Hampshire and formerly of Massachusetts, succumbed peacefully to cancer Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. Mr. Korsak was born April 8, 1934 in Lowell, Mass., son of the late John Peter and Irene (Stasiowski) Korsak. He was the ex-husband of the late Janet Roy of Lowell Mass. He was raised in Tyngsboro and Chelmsford Mass with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a farmer, 12-year veteran and a self-employed General Contractor- Craftsman. He did not know the word retired. We tried to stop him from working. He had a lifelong love of wood and left behind a legacy. A majority of his work is throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He didn’t just stop at wood, he could do anything that involved putting up a house: mason, electrician, plumber, you name it, he would just say it’s common sense, it was his gift. He was nicknamed “The Dog”, by his friends. It could stand for… the dog in Chinese, man’s best friend and the growl of spotting a good-looking lady. If you know Roy Orbison’s growl in the song “Pretty Women.”… that’s the one. He enjoyed family, friends, eating and the Red Sox. You could always find him at his playground… the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Speakers Corner. Besides his parents and ex-wife, he was predeceased by a brother, William P. Korsak. Survivors include three sisters;Irene K. McGreevy of Hollis, N.H., Dolores Czyczycki of Lowell, MA., Barbara K. Bogdan of Westford, MA. and brother, Charles J. Korsak of Mason, N.H.; four children; John P. Korsak III of Nashua, N.H., Julie Schnurpel of Highland, CA., Jackie Korsak of Highland, CA., and James J. Korsak of Merrimack, N.H.; one daughter- in-law, Michelle (Poisson) Korsak of Merrimack, N.H.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews There are no calling hours, and funeral services are private.
