John Richard Lanza ,64 died March 31, 2026 at Hillsborough County Nursing home in Goffstown, with his family at his side. He was born on July 11, 1961 in Bronx, New York, the son of Joseph and Susan(Mettler) Lanza.
John graduated from Dumont High School. He lived many years in New York and then moved to New Jersey. Before moving to New Hampshire, he lived in Port Jefferson, New York. John worked many years doing various jobs, working at a printing company, florist and at Target, in Long Island and then in Bedford, NH.
John was health conscious and loved to run. He ran in the New York City Marathon, and 12 other marathons in his lifetime. He also bicycled many places. He was a good uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents, grandparents(Joseph and Margaret Lanza) and (John and Theresa Mettler). He is also predeceased by many aunts and uncles.
John is survived by his son, Kenneth Dixon-Lanza. He is survived by his three brothers, Joseph(Joe) and Judi of Goffstown and their three children, Joseph, Jennifer and Jeffrey. Richard(Rick) and Chris and their two children, Suzanna and Theresa. Michael(Mike) and his girlfriend Ellie, and his son Jeremy. He is also survived by his Aunt Susan Brennan of Florida.
We would like to thank the staff at Hillsborough County Nursing home who took such good care of him, in his final years.
A memorial gathering will be held 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Phaneuf Funeral home, 243 Hanover Street. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Alzeihemers Association in lieu of flowers.
