John E. Lee Jr.

John Edward Lee, Jr, age 85, died September 11, 2022 at St Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. He was born on May 27, 1937 in South Boston, the son of John Edward Lee, Sr and Edith (Murray) Lee. He was the husband of Alita D. Lee. They were married on December 29, 2018.

John attend schools in South Boston. Following high school, John entered the United States Army and was stationed in Japan from 1953 – 1957. He was honorably discharged from the Army.  After the discharge, he married and had two sons. In later years, he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the MBTA at a number of car houses. He held many jobs prior within the MBTA.    

John was avid Boston sports fan; however, he had a love of the New York Yankees and in the early years Boston Braves. He also enjoyed, going out to lunch with his wife, watching old military movies. He also read the newspapers front to back each day and kept up to date on his iPad.  He also had a love of Samoyed dogs. His best pal was Yuri and later Jasmine.

He is predeceased by his sisters Margarite (Lee) Finn and her husband John, Virginia (Lee) Gilbrook, Edith Lee and brother, Frank Lee. He is survived by his sister Barbra (Lee) Cullerton and her husband Frank, Jean (Lee) O’Brien.  His two sons, Kenneth L. Lee and wife, Janie and John E. Lee III. Along with three grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Marina Lee and Amy Lee along with many nieces and nephews.

Internment will be at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester.
