John Stanley McGilvray, of Concord died September 6, 2008 at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH after a long illness.
He was born in Concord, NH, the son of Leroy H. Pratz and Mabel and Guy McGilvray.
John was a retired relocation advisor with State of NH, Department of Transportation.
His many activities included membership in the East Concord Lamplighters, where he worked with the youth basketball and baseball programs and the NE Little League. He was a former president of the Lamplighter Association and in 1977, he was named the East Concord Citizen of the year. For many years he was an active member of the Eastman School PTA.
His many other volunteer activities included work with the Concord Boys and Girls Club, the Capital Center for the Arts, the NH Highland Games and the Concord High School Quarterback Club.
He was an active member of St Pauls Church where he served on the vestry, the Pastoral Care team and was a Stephen Minister.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, his two sons Scott and Keith and his four grandchildren.
Services will be held at St Pauls Church on Wednesday, September 10th at 1:00PM. Memorial donations may be made to the St Pauls Church Outreach Program, 21 Centre Street, Concord, NH 03301 or to the Concord Boys and Girls Club "James Cerillo Scholarship Fund", Bradley Street, Concord, NH 03301.
