John E. Mcgregor

John E. McGregor, 64, of 34 Pillsbury Road in Sandown, NH died peacefully after battling cancer on November 26, 2001 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. McGregor was born on January 6, 1937 in Lawrence, MA the son of the late Raymond and Beatrice (DeRoche) McGregor. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran who served from 1955 until 1958. John was educated in the Lawrence School System and moved to New Hampshire in 1980 to be close to his family. He had worked in the auto body department for Shawsheen Motor Mart in Andover and then began his career with Lily Transportation Corp. where he was employed for 25 years. He first started working at Lincoln Foods in Lawrence and then became a long distance truck driver. He enjoyed golfing and his life of truck driving but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends when he wasn't on the road. Family members include; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Ellsey of Sandown, NH; three sons, Ronald (Helen) McGregor of Hampstead, NH, Raymond McGregor of Derry and John McGregor of Manchester; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Girt) Walsh of Salem, NH, Joan Cavanaugh of Salem, NH and Janet Gaudett of Methuen, MA. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Shaw) McGregor in 1994. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 3rd at 10:30 AM at St. Anne's Church in Hampstead with burial to follow at Center Cemetery in Sandown.
