John B. Norfolk died on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home in Bedford with his family by his side.
John’s journey of life began on March 15, 1957. He was born and raised in Fall River, MA. In
his youth, he wrestled, ran track, played football, and a trumpet. He attended Bristol Community
College and UMASS Dartmouth and at 21, he began his career in sales selling sneakers from
the trunk of his car. Soon after, he began a partnership with Bruce Morrow, opening J & B
Hockey Sporting Goods business. During the 80’s and 90’s, he boxed, practiced Martial Arts,
played tournament baseball, and did strength training. Over the years, he spent many days
and weekends riding his Harley Davidson and driving his Corvette. He was an avid firearms
instructor and competitor. He enjoyed DD coffee, Jack Daniels, and red wine. He loved reading
on his Kindle, watching movies, dancing, and traveling. He adored playing with his
granddaughters every day. His other joy was playing ball with his German Shepherd,
Winchester, and grand dog lab, Neely. His favorite colors were red, white, and blue which is
fitting of his patriotism. All those who knew John will remember him for his generosity,
unconditional love, and spirited will to live.
He is survived by his wife, Claire; stepdaughter, Juline Davis and her husband Matthew; two
Granddaughters, Emily and Caroline, all of Bedford, NH; stepdaughter, Monique Jeffrey of
Amesbury, MA; his brother, Christopher Norfolk and his wife Karen of Albuquerque, NM;
goddaughter, Caitlin Morrow of NY, New York; niece, Cheryl Bedard of Tiverton, RI; and
many lifelong friends.
