John A. Packard passed away on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
John leaves his brother David Packard and his wife, Jean of Chester, NH, his niece, Jillian Packard, a great niece and nephew all of Derry, NH, as well as his father Doug Packard of Texas. He is predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Hines and stepfather Daniel Hines who were of Derry, NH.
John was born on June 20, 1963 and was raised in Marlboro, MA, relocating many times over the years, before settling in Manchester, NH 25 years ago. He was an independent person and prided himself on being his own person and not being tied down. He owned his own business, Packard Brothers Siding Co, for the past 30 years. With his brother, David being his right-hand man most of those years. He was well known in the construction field locally and sided more homes than can be counted in southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
John loved cars, his trucks (always Ford’s), music and hanging out wherever he may be having a beer. Upon his passing the words of Lynyrd Skynard keep coming to mind: I’m as free as a bird now and that bird you cannot change.
There will be no wake. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, October 21st at 1pm at Great Hill Cemetery on Sandown Road in Chester, NH.
