John K. Pilsbury, age 78, of N. Main St., Boscawen, NH died Wed. Sept. 30 at Concord Hospital after brief struggle with cancer. John was born in Concord, the son of the late Thomas and Mayme (Myers) Pilsbury. A Concord High graduate, class of 1950. John was a 20 year veteran, serving in both the US Navy on the ARL Pandemus and the NHNG 3643D Maint. Co. as Sargent E5. John worked 21 years at Rico Millwork, 10 years at Concord School District and the NH Dept of Revenue. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball on several local teams, bowling and was a NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. He was active with the March of Dimes and the Fresh Air Fund for many years. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Munroe) Pilsbury, his children: Donna Hubbard and her husband Gary of Andover, Jeffery Pilsbury of Boscawen, Diane McKerley and her husband Michael of Boscawen and Michael P. MacDougall and his partner Rob of Roslindale, MA; five grandchildren: Tobias Hubbard, Tiffany Parker, Jessica Weddell, Michael McKerley, Jr., and Kayla Pilsbury; five great grandchildren: Lacey and Mya Weddell, Logan Hubbard, Evan and Damon Parker, and two step great grandchildren: Brandon and Alexis Parker. Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at 11:30am in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Followed by a gathering at the First Congregational Church, 177 N. Main St., Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Payson Center for Cancer Care, c/o Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
