John Patrick Quigley, 85, of Hudson, NH, died on May 26, 2017 at the New Hampshire Veteran's Home. He was born in Nashua, NH on December 5, 1931, son of the late James and Elsie (Pelkey) Quigley. He enjoyed 59 years of marriage with his wife, Jeanne (Morin) Quigley.
John was a 1949 graduate of Nashua High School. After he graduated, he joined the United States Army, where he served two terms in Korea as a mechanical engineer, ranking as Staff Sergeant upon his discharge from the military. Upon his return home, he and his brother James ran Quigley's Mobil Station on East Hollis Street in Nashua, where he met his wife, Jeanne, who was working as his bookkeeper at the time. He later ran Quigley's Citgo Station on Derry Road in Hudson. In 1976, he began working at Anheuser-Busch as a mechanic, where he worked for 16 years prior to his retirement.
John was the State Representative for Hudson, serving two terms in the early 1970's. He also enjoyed membership in the Knights of Columbus of Nashua, the American Legion of Hudson, and the VFW of Hudson.
John leaves behind his wife, Jeanne Quigley, of Hudson, NH; five children, including his daughter Linda Hardman of Hudson, NH; his son Jay (John Patrick Jr.) Quigley and wife Muffy of Strafford, NH; his daughter Colleen Kaatz and husband Russell of Deerfield, NH; his daughter Kellie Perillo and husband Thomas of New Durham, NH; and his daughter Kate Gallant and husband John of Hudson, NH; his grandchildren Rebecca, Delaney, Mahgan, Ashley, Carlie, Leah, Jonpatrick, Brandon, Brianna, Shannon and Ashley; great-grandchildren Hudson, Hazel, Ella-Jane and Charlotte-May; his sister, Lucille Bertrand of Nashua, NH and his brother William Quigley of Windham, NH. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his siblings, Edward, Dorothy, James and Jane Quigley.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
