John Francis Staples peacefully passed away early December 16, 2021 in his home in Twin Mountain with his loving wife, Louise Glines Staples, of 50 years, by his side.
He was born in Whitefield, NH on October 14, 1938 to Fred and Lela Staples. John will be remembered as a legendary outdoorsman and devoted pool player. Pool was his most memorable hobby and hunting and fishing were his passions. He held the Vermont state record for largest lake trout for over 2 decades.
In addition to his wife, Louise, John is survived by his sister, Betty Gilman of Twin Mountain; his three sons, John Staples, Dan Garneau and Bob Garneau; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. John will be truly missed by his loving family and devoted friends.
