John Bruce Swanick

John “Bruce” Swanick, 60, of Manchester died October 14, 2005 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford following a lengthy illness. Bruce was born on August 27, 1945 in Newton, MA the son of the late Vincent and Margaret (Hendricks) Swanick. He was a US Coast Guard veteran, serving in Vietnam as well as our county for seven years. By craft and trade Bruce was a carpet layer who worked throughout the state of New Hampshire. He was a member of the American Legion. Bruce enjoyed playing his luck with the lottery. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Family members include; his lifelong partner of 36 years, Claire (Pinard) Swanick; three daughters, Johnna Martel of Colorado, Donna Gagnon of Manchester and Joanna Dubois of Manchester; one son, John Scott of New Boston; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Swanick of Palmer, AZ and Cynthia Tower of Lake Wales, FL; several nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Liberty House, 75 West Baker Street, Manchester, NH 03103.
