In Loving Memory of John Wight
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of John Wight, on Saturday January 4, 2025 at his home in Manchester NH. Born on September 21, 1967, in Exeter, NH, John was the beloved son of Elizabeth (Liz) Lajoie.
John attended Central High School in Manchester and spent his early years exploring the U.S., traveling extensively and living in various states. A talented mason, John honed his craft as a foreman for George Pynn Masonry and SD Szetela Masonry before establishing his own successful business, John Wight Masonry. John loved to show his kids the work he had done on various projects whenever he could.
Known for his active and hands-on approach, John was always busy working on projects around the house—no task was too small or too challenging for him. He was often referred to as the Jack of all trades and master at most. He loved the outdoors, mountain biking, snowboarding, and cheering for his favorite NASCAR drivers. You could often find him cooking and barbequing incredible meals for his family and friends. He would enjoy participating with the Boy Scouts when his son was working toward achieving Eagle Scout. He loved to watch his kids play sports and dance when they were younger.
John was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth (Nanny) Lajoie. He is survived by his four cherished children: Rebecca Cutshall and her husband Matt of New Boston, NH; Kelsey Wight of Dover, NH; Alexis (Lexie) Wight of Manchester, NH; and Joshua Wight of Manchester, NH. He was a proud grandfather to three beloved grandchildren: Brady, Carter, and Lilliana (Lily). John also leaves behind his brother, Philip (Flip) Wight, and his wife Dodie of Pembroke, NH, and his sister, Janet Grenville of Homosassa, FL, along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Arrangements: John’s Memorial Gathering will be held in the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Saturday, January 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at noon. Following the service, a celebration of John’s life will be held at Pinardville Athletic Club 15 Pershing St, Manchester, NH, and friends and family are encouraged to bring a favorite dish to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family. To view John's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.
