Jon D. Dana, 53, of 3981 Brown Avenue, died October 25, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Rockland, ME on June 8, 1952, the son of John P. and Emily (Dyer) Dana had been a Bedford resident for over ten years before moving to Manchester last year. He was a graduate of the Maine Central Institute (MCI) in Pittsfield, ME and attended the University of Maine at Orono. He had worked as a district manager for Dexter shoe where he had been employed for over 25 years. He was an avid golfer who learned the game from his father who was a golf pro. He played in numerous tournaments in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He was a sportsman who enjoyed playing football, baseball, basketball and track. Family members include his wife of 27 years, Penny (Marcia) Dana; his father of Lakeland, FL; a son, John Dana of New Hampton; two daughters, Jessica Schmanski of Merrimack and Jennifer Dana of Pembroke; one grandchild; a brother, Jere Dana of Turkey; a sister, Janet Dana of Buxton, ME; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. In His Life: He enjoyed spending time with his family and his only grandchild; Madisyn Schmanski. A memorial gathering will take place at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street on Sunday from 6 to 7 with a candlelight ceremony following at 7:00 PM in the Cremation Society Chapel.
