Joseph "Reggie" Cloutier, Sr. died peacefully on December 10, 2017 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home after suffering a series of illnesses.
He was born January 18, 1936 in Concord, NH to Adelard and Regina (Carrier) Cloutier. As a child, his family lived in Penacook, NH and Alexandria, NH. After graduating from high school, he proudly served as an Airman in the US Air Force.
Reggie was a dedicated employee for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation for over 27 years, retiring in 1993.
Reggie was a quiet, gentle man. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking long walks in the woods, admiring nature and the wildlife. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed reading, hunting, and fishing.
He was a longtime member and former president of the Andover Fish & Game Club, and member and supporter of the NRA.
Reggie will be fondly remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. Survivors include his daughter, Kandy Cloutier Keller of Andover, NH; his son, Joseph Cloutier, Jr. and his wife, Tanja of Andover, NH; and daughter, Jacqueline Cloutier of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Reggie was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Kernan, and his brother, Henry Cloutier.
A private burial will be held at Homeland Cemetery in Bristol, NH in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Fish & Game Club, Po Box 253, Andover, NH 03216.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Longfellow Home, Andover, NH and Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen, NH for the care and friendship provided to Reggie during his stay.
