Joseph A. Fariz 84, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2016.
Joe, as he liked to be called, was born in Lowell, MA. He was the second of eight children and the eldest son of the late Joseph G. and Eva G. (Correia) Fariz. He was preceded by his son-in-law, Frederick G. Kleinsorge; his infant brother, Paul; his brother-in-law, Albert L. Garant; and his brother-in-law, George R. Pelletier.
Joe was educated in the Nashua school system and joined the United States Navy shortly after graduating from Nashua high school. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Nashua and attended the New Hampshire Technical Collage for an education in Machine Tooling. Joe put his education to work at IMPCO a division of Ingersoll Rand located on Burke Street in Nashua. He worked his way up at IMPCO for over 30 years and eventually retired from his position as head of NC Programming. During his years at IMPCO he served the on the NHTC's advisory board for Industrial Engineering Studies.
Joe was a devoted family man. He enjoyed regular gatherings of his large, extended family and weekly Sunday breakfasts with his siblings, nieces and nephews. He was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Nashua.
Joe had many interests including golf, bowling, playing cribbage, reading, playing guitar and listening to opera.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Catherine M. Fariz (the wife of Frederick G. Kleinsorge); son, Richard A. Fariz; daughter, Elizabeth A. Szakacs and husband James Lee Jr.; son, Joseph P. Fariz; granddaughter, Kristen A. Kleinsorge; sisters, Mary G. Fariz, Lorraine M. Pelletier, Rose M. Garant; brother, James Fariz and wife Pamela Fariz; sister, Theresa Huntley and husband Doug Huntley; sister, Diane Walton and husband David Walton; several nieces, nephews, Godchildren and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Thursday morning, December 22, 2016 at 9:30 am. Friends are invited to attend. A private internment will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
