Joseph McMahon

Joseph F. McMahon was born on March 3rd, 1947 in Holyoke, MA. He was one of nine children. He graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School in 1965. He was a proud member of the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and served in the Vietnam War. He worked very hard over the course of his long and accomplished career in the restaurant industry. He spent his retired years enjoying time with his family. Family was the most important thing to him. He also loved relaxing in his rocking chair, watching his Boston sports teams, and his western and war movies with an ice cold Diet Coke in his hands.

He was released from his physical suffering and returned to God in heaven on June 27th, 2023 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. He is survived by his wife Susan McMahon and daughter Rachel McMahon of Nashua, NH. His daughter Emma Dunn and her husband Bill of Hudson, NH. His grandson Jacob Dunn and his granddaughter Temperance Dunn also of Hudson, NH. His sisters Kathleen McMahon of Holyoke, MA, Patricia Gonski of Palmer, Alaska and sister and brother in law Pam and Art. As well as many, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Loretta and Daniel McMahon of Holyoke, MA. His siblings Daniel and Billy McMahon, and his sisters Mary Ellen Chevalier, Eileen McMahon, Rosie McMahon and Loretta Moriarty all of Massachusetts. May his soul find the peace that his body could not. He will be loved and missed forever and ever. There will never be another like him.

A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
