Joseph Daniel Meeks II

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Daniel Meeks II, known to many as Dan, was a beloved father, devoted husband, and a servant of God. He joined his savior in Heaven on 27 December 2023, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and enduring memories.

Dan was born on 17 March 1951, in Hot Springs, AR.  He attended Hot Springs High School and went on to Ouachita Baptist College where he met Jesus and his wife.  A loving husband, Dan shared 49 years of marriage with his wife, Jan Meeks.  Together they moved to New Hampshire, where they had four children and a home filled with love and countless memories.  Dan's love for family was evident in family gatherings, where he would sit and talk with everyone.  His passion was spending time with Jesus every day.  He would pour through bible after bible and journal his thoughts and prayers.  In his professional life, Dan spent 28 years of service at the NH Department of Corrections sharing his stories with his co-workers and his faith with inmates that asked.  He really felt his calling in life was to love God and share his faith with anyone who would talk about it. 

Dan is survived by his wife Jan Meeks of Canterbury, NH; his son Michael Meeks of Denver, CO and his kids Gavin, Madison and Logan; his daughter, Gina Boswell of Weare, NH and her husband Erik and their kids:  Ethan, Chloe, and Sophie; his son Chris Meeks of Goffstown, NH and his wife Jessica and their kids:  Christopher, Conor, and Cole; his daughter April Meeks of Laconia, NH and her husband Mike, and their kids:  Molly and Emily.  He is also survived by his brother Jack Campbell of Hot Springs, AR and sisters Rose Sparkman of Mangum, OK, Joellen Pratt of Hot Springs, AR and Jeanne Couillard of West Cumberland, ME.

While our hearts ache at his departure, we find solace in the memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.  A celebration of Dan's life will be held at New Testament Christian Fellowship, (522 Pine St Manchester, NH 03102) on 20 January 2024 at 10:00 AM.

May his soul dance with Jesus and may the memories of his love continue to comfort and inspire us all.
