Joyce Laura (Anderson) Gendron

Joyce Laura (Anderson) Gendron, 84, of Wolfeboro, NH passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019 in Exeter, NH. Born October 8, 1934 in Derby, CT, she was daughter of the late William and Louise Anderson of Ansonia, CT.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, her son Carl and his wife Lisa of Cheshire, CT; her son Craig and his wife Karen of Stratham, NH; and her daughter Erika Blocher and her husband Frederic of Wolfeboro, NH; two grandsons, Keith and Kevin and four granddaughters, Lindsey, Courtney, Laura and Jill as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Carl Gendron.

Joyce was a graduate of New Haven State Teachers College, which is now Southern CT University. She began her teaching career at McKinley School, Fairfield, CT where she met her husband. They raised their children in Fairfield until retiring and moving to Freedom, NH. They moved to Sarasota, FL and finally settled in Wolfeboro, NH. Joyce enjoyed being a teacher and after raising her three children went back as a substitute teacher and principal in Fairfield. Her hobbies included all types of home decorating including furniture, paints, and flowers and plants. We will miss her beautiful smile and kind manner.

A service will be held in the spring where she will join her parents at their resting place in Shelton, CT.
