Joyce Claire (McGee) Weldon, 74, Lincoln NH died January 4, 2007 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after a long period of failing health. Joyce was born in Lincoln on June 7, 1932 and lived there most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, John Weldon, father William C McGee Jr., mother Helen (McGee) Blanchard, brothers William C McGee III and Thomas McGee and sister Eileen (McGee) Smith. She attended Lincoln Elementary and High Schools and worked in the finishing room at Franconia Paper Corporation and in several local restaurants. When her husband died Joyce put herself through college earning a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from NH College. She worked many years for Grafton County Community Action Program helping hundreds of people from her beloved north country with fuel assistance, home improvements, community food cupboard and other assistance. Joyce is survived by her three children Terry Weldon of New Orleans LA, Stewart Weldon of Plymouth NH and Ken Weldon of Enfield NH, grandchildren Quinn and Ruby Weldon, several cousins, nieces and nephews. IN HER LIFE: Joyce took particular joy in the company of her grandchildren. She was a dedicated animal lover and took in many stray cats during her years of living on LaBrecque St in Lincoln. She was an avid birdwatcher and loved reading mystery novels and the works of William Shakespeare. There will no services and no calling hours.
