Judith D. Abbott, 64, of Dover died peacefully on February 17, 2006 at the Hospice House in Concord as a result of pancreatic cancer. Judy was born on September 1, 1941 in Manchester the daughter of the late Milton and Helene (Letson) Abbott. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central High School in 1959. She retired from Raytheon where she worked in a variety of capacities. She had also worked at NH Eye Associates. Judy moved to Dover 18 months ago to be close to her family. Until her illness, Judy had been employed at Salmon Falls Pottery where she thoroughly enjoyed her work and time with coworkers and customers. She was proud of her heritage; a descendent of J Stevens Abbot, of Abbot & Downing, a master craftsmen and partial owner of the world famous Concord Coaches. She had an appreciation for nature and birds, especially chickadees. She was always involved within the communities in which she lived and was a volunteer at the Massabesic Audubon Society as well as Wentworth Douglas Hospital. Judy vacationed for many years on the Seacoast of Maine with her family. She loved lighthouses, her favorite of which was Nubble Light however enjoyed visiting many others along the Maine Coast. She adored her daughter and grandchildren and her love for them was reciprocated. Family members include; one daughter, Stephanie D. Potter of Lee; and five grandchildren. IN HER LIFE: She leaves behind her grandchildren, Shaunna Richard of CO, Kristina Richard of ME, Cynthia Richard of Durham, Austin Richard of Durham and Patrick Ellsworth-Potter of Lee. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, March 3rd at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 961 Valley Street. Burial bill be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the family lot in the spring.
