Judith A. (McNally) Kraemer

Judith A. (McNally) Kraemer, 87 of Alexandria, NH (formally of Canton, MA) passed away peacefully with grace and dignity on August 5,2024. She was in the comfort of her own home overlooking her gardens surrounded by her loving family and, of course, her cats.

Born in Brighton, MA on March 31,1937 to the late Nobert and Marion (Russell) McNally. Judy married her husband, Joseph B. Kraemer Jr. and settled in Canton, MA. Passionate for teaching young minds, while raising four children, she led many in Camp Fire Girls and Bluebird Troops. Judy returned to her true passion and pursued her nursing studies as a graduate of Curry College in Milton, MA and Simmons University in Boston, MA. After making the move and building their dream log home in Alexandria, she worked in several New England agencies until finally hanging up, as she called it, “her shingle” with Dr. Kevin Young as an adult independent Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Plymouth, NH.

As an active member of the Pasquaney Garden Club, Judy became a Master Gardner and assisted in the design and creation of the Butterfly Garden in Bristol, NH behind the Minot-Sleeper Library. She loved to mentor some of the local youth clubs sharing her knowledge of gardening. She was a dedicated volunteer of the NH Marathon for many years by organizing and coordinating the water stations for thousands of runners. As past President and member of the Alexandria Historical Society, she helped to refurbish the Tucker House in Alexandria. She also wrote a local column about the events and happenings in Alexandria for Plymouth Record Enterprise. Judy was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, documentaries, gardening, cooking for her family, sewing and crafts, and her cats.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Joseph for over 67 years, with whom they shared a love of outdoors, hiking, including Mt. Washington, camping, watching the Red Sox, and road tripping across the country. Four children, Jo-Anne Cole and her husband Michael Cole of NH, Joyce Higgins and her late husband Michael Higgins of FL, Joseph Kraemer III of NH, and Jane Kraemer of NH. Younger siblings, Linda Santoro of MA, Virginia Minichiello of NC, and Norbert (Butch) McNally of FL.,15 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Old Alexandria Town Hall, 47 Washburn Road Alexandria, NH, from 2:00pm-4:00pm. The family extends an invitation to share experiences, stories, and a reception in honoring the life of Judith A. Kraemer.
