Judith A. Landry, 61, of Manchester died July 31, 2014 at Bedford Hills in Bedford following a struggle with cancer.
She was born on May 21, 1953 in Manchester, NH the daughter of Raymond and Mary "Bessie" Roy.
Judy was raised and educated in Manchester, graduating from Manchester West High School in 1971.
She worked in many roles over the years. In her youth, wanting to explore the world, Judy spent time working as a waitress in New Orleans and Hawaii, which allowed her explore the world and live a free life. She also traveled to much of California and Europe in her youth before settling down to start a family.
After having children, she started at Hillview Restaurant, and also spent time as a nurse and as a sobriety counselor in Manchester.
Judy enjoyed traveling the world, reading novels, and writing poetry. One of her poems, "Heartache", was published in a national anthology in the 1990s. But most of all, she enjoyed seeing those close to her living happy lives.
Surviving family members include her two sons, Gregory M. Landry of Manchester and Douglas S. Landry of Charlestown, MA. Her "kitties", Cali and Fireball are also near and dear to her, as anyone close to her would surely agree. She is also survived by her special friend and soul mate, Ivan Jackson, who was always a supportive and loving friend in her most trying times.
Anyone who truly knew and loved Judy will surely miss her dearly, but will also celebrate her life and be comforted that her struggle has now ended. Services will be held at a later date to be announced, most likely in early to mid September.
