Judy Earline Cooper

Judy Earline (Shea) Cooper , 78, died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Nashua Crossings Assisted Living in Nashua, NH. She was born on April 30,1943 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Wilbur Shea and Shirley Bagnall Shea. Judy married the love of her life, Ernie Cooper, on June 4, 1968 in Townsend, MA.

Raised and educated in Massachusetts, Judy was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Class of 1960. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State College, Class of 1964, as well as her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Antioch University, Class of 1992. A patient and nurturing teacher, Judy taught in Fitchburg, MA, Japan, 1968-1969, and Amarillo, TX, 1970. After earning her Master’s Degree, she and Ernie settled in New Hampshire. Judy dedicated her career to the City of Manchester, Office of Youth Services for 22 years until her retirement in June 2010.

A beloved wife, daughter, mentor, and friend, Judy relished time outdoors with her friends and family. In their younger years, Judy and Ernie loved to sail around Plum Island area. In retirement, they enjoyed RV trips in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Cape Cod, South Carolina, and Florida. She especially loved seeing the Nubble Lighthouse, York, ME decorated for Christmas and always visited the gift shop. A gentle soul, Judy found great companionship and comfort in her seven dogs. She loved and cherished each of them dearly. Judy will be best remembered for her kind and generous heart.

In addition to her husband, Ernie, Judy is survived by her cousins, nieces and nephew, and many dear friends.
