Julianne P. Daniels

Julie Daniels passed away peacefully after a courageous nine-year battle with cancer. Known as the "Energizer Bunny," Julie approached life with the same determination and joy that made her a legend in the dog training world.

Julie was one of the foremost names in U.S. dog agility, helping establish the sport nationwide in its early days. Her "dog's choice" training philosophy was initially controversial, but proved to be ahead of its time.

For 28 years, she owned and operated White Mountain Agility in North Sandwich, NH, where she created renowned training camps and the world-famous WMA Instructor Certification Course. She authored four agility books and three DVDs, served on the faculty at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy for nearly a decade, and was the expert commentary voice for Cynosport agility livestreams watched worldwide.

Julie’s competitive achievements included national championships and international gold medals. She won numerous televised events and was known for her success with diverse breeds, being the only person to make USDAA Grand Prix finals with both a Rottweiler and a Springer Spaniel.

Julie's approach to her cancer diagnosis exemplified her independent spirit. Diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in 2016, she rejected chemotherapy and chose innovative T-cell treatments in Germany, funded largely by her supportive dog training community.

Julie is survived by her beloved daughter Heather, her roommate and fellow trainer Karen (who will care for Julie’s dog Koolaid), and her four siblings.

Julie faced her final challenge with the same courage and determination she brought to everything else in her life. Her spirit lives on in every dog she trained and every life she made brighter simply by being Julie.

Julie's memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, 1-5 p.m., at Brentwood Community Center in Brentwood, NH.
