Karen Linden

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Karen Johnson Linden on January 13, 2024. Born on July 16, 1945 to the late Mandus and Louise Damary Johnson of Manchester. Beloved wife, much loved sister, best aunt ever and friend to many. She went to Central High School, Class of 1963 and Elliot School of Nursing, Class of 1966. Following school, she spent two years in the Peace Corps in Honduras. Karen worked many years as a nurse; mostly at Elliot Hospital as well as two years at Lakeshore Hospital.

She and David shared their love of country living; riding their horses and loving their many cats over the years. Karen loved feeding the birds. She was an avid reader and books passed between family and friends.

She is survived by husband of 42 years, David Linden of Deerfield; two sisters, Nancy Drown of Raymond and Gail Barr of Raymond; two brothers, Charles (Dina) Johnson and Bruce (Pat) Johnson of Epsom; nephews, Rob (Linda) Drown, Duke (Roxanne) Drown, Eric (Laurie) Johnson Jeff (Victoria) Johnson, Skip Johnson, Jason (Sharie) Johnson, Jerry Johnson; nieces, Kristen (John) Schunemann, Lisa Mason, Cathy (Dennis) Berry, and Jenny (Kevin) DeRuyter; and many great nieces and nephews.

Karen was known as “flash” for all the pictures she took for family and friends. She was the first in the family to own and ride a motorcycle and taught a nephew how to ride. In her early years, she was the owner of a snowmobile and we all had fun riding with her.

ARRANGEMENTS: Per her wishes there will be no services. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester.
