Karl William Stritter

Karl William Stritter, 60, of Salem, MA died November 21, 2002 at Union Hospital in Lynn after a lengthy battle with heart and lung disease. He was the son of Karl W. and Edith (Munroe) Stritter of Cotuit. He was born in Gardner and grew up in Taunton, where he attended grade school. He graduated High School from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. Thereafter, he received a BS in Education from The University of Maine, at Orono. In 1973 he attained a Juries Doctor at New England School of Law. Karl was admitted to practice before the Massachusetts Courts, and the United States District Court at Boston. For many years he practiced civil litigation in Boston. Then, for several years with Alan S. Pierce & Associates of Salem. After retiring he pursued his life long interest in poetry, and several of his poems were published in national and local journals, as well as two books of poems. Not only was he a loving son, brother and friend, he was devout father to Stephen Allen who died in 1989. He was also the loving father of two daughters, Susan Ann of Haverhill and Samantha Andrea of Medford. He is also survived by a sister, Karolyn Sikorski of Taunton; a granddaughter, Haley Hart of Haverhill; and a nephew, Michael Bodreau of Needham. Expressions of sympathy may be donated to the charity of one's choice. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 25th at 1:00 PM at St. James Chapel on 156 Federal Street in Salem.
