Kathleen T. Johnson, 73, of Sunapee, NH passed away on May 6, 2022.
She was born in Claremont, NH to Phelina & Alfred Hintermyer on January 24, 1949, and attended St. Mary’s parochial school where she met her husband of 50 years Gary Johnson and graduated Salutatorian of her High School class.
Kathleen devoted her life to being an incredible homemaker and a true “poet of the heart”. Along with her husband of 50 years (Gary Johnson, who left us too early in 2016), she raised, and is survived, by her three children, Valerie Johnson and son-in-law, Michael Brown of Dimondale, MI, Paul Johnson and daughter-in-law, Kim Tieu of Oakland, CA, and Stephen Johnson of Rochester, NH; granddaughter, Makaylah and grandson, Austyn.
Kathleen spent time in the workforce as an Elementary School teacher and as an Office Manager, but she was truly known far and wide for her incredible command of words and her love of writing and poetry. Her gift of handwritten notes & letters was received, and loved, by everyone in her circle of family and friends.
Kathleen had a wonderful gift for language, exemplified in her writing. She also had a self-proclaimed “warped” sense of humor as evidenced by her love of funny cards which one could expect to arrive at every holiday, birthday, and sometimes “just because” she happened to find the perfect card.
She loved her family, her dogs, New Hampshire, and the “truths of the heart”, “the flowers of summer”, and the “endless November twilights”.
Arrangements: A Memorial Service and Reception will held this coming Wednesday, May 11, 2002 from 12PM – 2PM at The Livery, 58 Main Street, Sunapee, NH 03782. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kathleen memory to The Wild Animal Sanctuary at www.wildanimalsanctuary.org.
