Kathleen J. Mattison

Kathleen Jane "Kathy" Mattison, beloved wife, mother, and "Nana", 75, of Hinsdale, NH passed away at home with family on August 19th, 2024 after a nearly year long battle with cancer. She was the widow of Clyde Mattison. They shared 48 years of marriage together. 

Born in Montague, MA, on May 1st, 1949, she was the daughter of Clarence and Beatrice (Case) Jardine. She attended Orange Elementary School and graduated from Mahar Regional High School in 1967. She was employed at HCP Packaging, formerly Bridgeport Metals, for many years as a Machine Operator. There, she met several loving friends who were in her life until her passing. 

Anyone who knew Kathy knew that she had a great love for horses and harness racing. She was one of the first women drivers, driving her first race with her beloved horse "Niblet". It was at the track, in Hinsdale, where she met her beloved husband Clyde. They wed September 4th, 1971, and welcomed their son Alan in 1972. She was the best Nana, loving her granddaughter, Brittany, Brittany's husband Anthony, and her great granddaughter Greta with everything she had. 

She also loved to visit "Amish Country" in Pennsylvania, where her and Clyde met a wonderful Amish family who stayed in touch over the years, up until her passing. 

Kathy was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Beatrice Jardine, sisters Lois Lincoln and Marjorie Jardine, and more recently, her son Alan Mattison and her husband Clyde Mattison. She is survived by her brother Russel "Butch" (Charlene) Jardine of MA, granddaughter Brittany (Mattison) Mercier, Brittany's husband Anthony, and their daughter Greta, of Hinsdale, 1 brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, 4 step-children, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, as well as dear neighbors and friends. She also left her cats, Pumpkin and Smokey, in the care of Brittany and her family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Congregational Church at 36 Main Street in Hinsdale, NH, on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at 1PM.
