Katie Marie Howard, 39, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 8, 2025. She is survived by her two daughters Madison and Avah, her parents France and Larry, her two sisters Kellie and Samantha, her brother-in-law Jacob, and her cat Pika.
Born on April 18, 1986, Katie was the eldest of three daughters to France and Larry Howard. As a young child, Katie was friendly and outgoing. She loved finding people to talk to, it didn’t matter who. She enjoyed many activities including playing with her mom’s hair before naptime, watching her father build cars in his garage (leading to her first word being “daddy”), and wearing the Batman cape her grandmother made while playing around the house.
Katie was excited to become a big sister. She would entertain her little sisters, Kellie and Samantha, with plays, games, and pretend modeling shoots. In their youth, she loved playing their second mom, but grew into being the “really cool big sis.” Katie always included Kellie and Sam on her adventures and escapades, and the sisters stayed tightly bonded.
Katie knew no greater joy than being a mother to Madison and Avah. Her daughters meant the world to her and she was always proud as she watched them grow. Together they shared many tea parties with various handcrafted miniature snacks. Midnight treats were also enjoyed on occasion… She shared her joy of scary movies with them, as well as her mischievous sense of humor. Katie went out of her way to make every moment she shared with her girls extremely memorable.
She had a special connection with her father. From early on, Katie loved going to the flea market with him, sitting in his vintage cars, and truly any time they had together. Most importantly, in recent years Katie loved having her morning conversations with her dad, especially on his ride to and from work.
Katie’s mom was her best friend. The two talked on the phone daily, too many times to count. They loved to chit-chat and share stories about anything and everything. One of their favorite places was the beach where they would play in the arcade and photo booths. Together they laughed often, built each other up, and Katie felt very cared for by her mother.
Katie loved any activity that included friends, new and old. She also found joy in her independent crafting; she created art of all kinds. Katie’s favorite activity of all was playing with her frisky cat Pika. He could make her feel comfort like no other. She was also known for being “lucky,” especially when it came to games, with her constant victories—usually in bingo.
Katie studied psychology and was passionate about connecting other people with resources for their needs. Katie’s people-loving heart was a driving force for her success in this work. Along this journey, her spunky sense of humor and magnetic personality made her new friends at every turn. Katie was incredibly resilient, a fighter with a no-quit personality, and her family could not have been more proud of the woman she was.
