Kenneth Brown

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Nelson Brown announces his passing on January 30, 2019 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Ken was born on December 14, 1954 in Peabody, Massachusetts to Ruth & Nelson Brown. Ken attended Essex Agricultural High School located in Hathorne, Massachusetts where his love for farming began to cultivate. As part of a work-study program, Ken was employed at Edgewood Farm in North Andover, Massachusetts where he performed a variety of jobs and made some life long friends.

After graduating high school, Ken attended SUNY College in Cobbleskill New York. He finished college and earned his degree in Large Animal Science from Essex Agricultural Technical College in 1975.

After working at Edgewood Farm for several years, Ken realized he had an interest in horseshoeing. Ken spent time in Florida specializing his training with Farrier, Tom Curl and began his own business in 1979. Ken continued to work with passion until August of 2018. Ken was a hard worker and an amazing provider and always put others first. Some of Ken's clients describe him as one of the best in the business. They say he always put the horses' needs first and would come to their aide at a moment's notice. They described Ken as fun to talk to; as having a great smile and a good sense of humor.

Although Ken was taken too soon, He lived life to the fullest. Ken loved boating and spent the past 20 years navigating the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee in his 34 ft. Formula PT Cruiser. Ken loved to go on cruises and spent a great deal of time in the casino playing slots and black jack. Ken also enjoyed music and loved playing his saxophone with all the windows open on a summer night despite his neighbors' protests!

Ken will be missed by his fiancé Kathy Chouinard of Gilford, NH; his son Christopher Brown and his wife Fatou of Lothian, Maryland and his two grandchildren, Alexus and Troy.

Ken will also be missed by his loving and dedicated family, which includes his mother Ruth Brown of Peabody, Massachusetts; his six siblings, Cheryl Neth and her husband Dave of Londonderry, New Hampshire; Jeff Brown and his wife Mary of Hancock, New Hampshire. Wendy Spoto of Peabody, Massachusetts; Judie Walker and her husband Donny of Seabrook, New Hampshire; Heidi Connolly and her late husband Brian of Peabody, Massachusetts and Holly Walker and her husband Kevin of Seabrook, New Hampshire. Ken will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ken was predeceased by his father Nelson Brown in 2006.

At Ken's request, there will be no funeral services but instead a celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.
