KENNETH E. CHIMENE

BETHLEHEM, NH – Kenneth E. Chimene, 83, passed away at his home on September 7, 2013, with his family by his side.

Kenneth was born in Austin, Texas on February 25, 1930, the son of Eugene Opet and Bereniece (Rosenwald) Chimene. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1952 and served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1954.

Kenneth lived in Tully, NY for the majority of his adult life where he owned an insurance agency. His last ten years were spent living with his daughter, Diane, and her family in Bethlehem, NH.
He loved to travel, and visited most everywhere worldwide. Classical music and reading were also passions of Kens.

Surviving family members include his brother, Lucian Chimene, wife Vera Colbert Chimene; his brother, Dr. Donald Chimene, wife Ellen Berk Chimene; his children, Jeffrey Eugene Chimene, wife Kaye Chimene; Bruce Louis Chimene; daughter, Diane Chimene Johnson, husband J. Keith Johnson; grandchildren Joshua Chimene, Sierra Chimene, Camden R. Johnson, Gabriel J. Johnson, and Aaron S. Johnson; nieces and nephews, Claude Chimene, Alyda Chimene, Susan Chimene Weiss, Jonathan Chimene , wife Stephanie, Karen Chimene , husband Jose', and eight great-nieces and nephews.

SERVICES -- A ceremonial scattering will be held during a sea tribute cruise with the New England Burials at Sea on September 17th.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to the
University of Chicago, 5555 South Woodlawn Ave., Chicago, IL 60637 Attn: Gifts and Records Services.
