Kenneth Charles Scribner, Sr.

August 15, 1935 — October 1, 2021

Kenneth Charles Scribner, Sr.

Our beloved father, Kenneth C. Scribner Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1st at Hanover Hill Health Care Center. He was 86 years old.

First and foremost, we would like to thank God for such a wonderful and loving earthly father. He was born in Concord, NH on August 15, 1935 to the late Louis and Dorothy (Kimball) Scribner. He was raised in Webster, NH and graduated from Simonds Free High School in Warner, NH. It was there he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life Betty. They were married in 1955 and had 59 years together before her passing in 2014.

He fought for many years with serious health conditions. His recoveries amazed and touched many in the medical field as it was nothing less than a miracle. He always said that he lived for his children. It was a gift to have love so deep. The day before his passing, he enjoyed his ice cream cone at Lake Massabesic with his beloved daughters. It was a beautiful day filled with laughter and joy. He was our father and best friend!

Kenneth was a self-employed taxi driver for Central Taxi in Concord, NH for over 32 years. Although a modest career, he had many relationships of great value with his customers. They would always ask for him by name and would often wait until he was available. He would also do errands for the elderly on his own time. This is truly what he considered more valuable than money itself.

After surviving Covid-19 last year, he took up intricate coloring as one of his pastimes. He was so very proud of being a Covid survivor and that people wanted his artwork.

Those who knew him would simply just fall in love with him. He was a memorable man that was very kind and respectful. His greatest asset undoubtedly was his sense of humor which he was always willing to share.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty (Drew), sons Glenn and Bruce Scribner, brothers, Karl Scribner (his identical twin) and Richard Scribner and his sister Ethel Keniston.

He is survived by his son Kenneth C. Scribner Jr. and wife Donna of Barnstead, NH; daughters Toni Cusumano and partner Ron Derome of Manchester, NH, Shari Greenleaf and husband Darin of Penacook, NH and Laura Christy and husband Meletios of Manchester, NH. Kenneth also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to Hanover Hill Health Care Center and Dr. Mills for their exceptional personal care given to our father.
