Kerri Lee (Mackenzie) Horne, 67, passed away peacefully on November 26th, where she was well cared for by the staff of Birch Healthcare Facility. Kerri was born in Bainbridge, Maryland and grew up in South Jersey. She was a high school graduate from Middle Township High School in Cape May Court House, NJ. Kerri resided in Rio Grande, NJ with her first two children, Carli and Stephen. She later moved to New Hampshire where she married Randy Horne and had three additional children together (Christen, Kim and Seth.) The family of seven settled in the upper valley until each child grew, flourished and began their lives as adults.
Kerri worked in customer service for many years and had an incredible passion working with the elderly. She took great pride in not only caring for them, but for making sure each one felt valued and loved. She was a kind soul to everyone, and enjoyed sharing stories of her life and her childrens' accomplishments. Her sense of humor and sarcasm was appreciated by many and gave her the edge in bonding with the patients at Genesis Health Care, where she held a tenured position.
She was a beautiful woman, daughter, sister, and mother to her five children. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren (and counting). She had a beautiful singing voice and was known to belt out amazing versions of Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. Kerri adored her children and often used ridiculously cheesy names such as "pumpkin" or "angel face". Her presence will be very much missed by them.
She is survived by her four children- Carli Merchant, Christen (Matthew) Laplante, Kim (Max) McGuiness and Seth Horne. She leaves behind siblings Jay Mackenzie, Barry Mackenzie, Dani Mackenzie and Mary Eastman, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eldest son Stephen, her parents John Mackenzie and Diane Ruse and her siblings Kimberly and Kevin Mackenzie.
Her family is comforted and reassured by her faith in the Lord: steady, strong and unwavering. She taught her children from a very young age the value of faith, hope and prayer and ended each evening with the same words "In Jesus name we pray....Amen".
A service will take place on Wednesday, January 31st at New Beginnings Church (formerly Calvary Church) in Lebanon, NH with details to follow. All will be welcome to celebrate her life.
"Rest in peace, dearest Kerri. Your spirit and love will continue to blossom in our hearts."
