Kerry E. Nelson

March 29, 1946 — January 4, 2023

Raymond

Kerry Nelson passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the age of 76 surrounded by loved ones.  He was born in Concord, NH to the late Stanley Nelson and Evelyn (Annis) Nelson.

Kerry grew up and worked with his Dad on the family owned Stonynook Farm in Contoocook.  He graduated from Hopkinton High School where he was a member of the State Basketball Championship team of 1964, the Golf Team, baseball, and soccer.  He enjoyed muscle cars and owned many of them in his younger years. He was also an avid bike rider and completed the Tour of the Unknown Coast in California.  He loved to get on his bike and ride the back roads of New Hampshire, taking off without a planned route in mind.  He loved to hike and camp, especially in Acadia National Park and many years of seasonal camping with his wife and friends at Bow Lake and Ayers Lake.

Kerry worked in the construction field for many years as well as a number of years at OD Hopkins.  He enjoyed watching the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics, especially during the Larry Bird era.  He also enjoyed having craft beers with friends and spending time at different Craft Breweries, especially Tuckerman Brewery in Conway.

Besides his parents, Kerry was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Faith Nelson; brother-in-Law, Charles Frye; and his nephew, Shawn Stanley Frye.

Kerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lynn A. (Stebbins) Nelson of Raymond; one daughter Heather Nelson and her fiancé, Nelson Silva of Raymond; his sister, Vicki Frye of Contoocook; four grandchildren, Jaiden, Dominick, Kaden, and Brianna; and a large family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
