Kerstin Moller Balmer, 82, of Bedford, NH, passed away on October 11, 2024, at The Elms Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milford, NH, after an extended period of failing health.
Kerstin was born on April 2, 1942, to Thor and Marta Moeller in Malmohus, Sweden.
After completing her education, she spent several years in Jamaica, teaching children in a special needs program.
In 1978, Kerstin met Edward (Buster) Balmer, while visiting mutual family members, on Cape Cod. They married in the fall of 1979 and lived together at their home in Bedford, NH, until Edward’s passing in 2009.
Kerstin was enthusiastic about the arts and her talents included photography, painting, and creating clay and ceramic items. She was also an avid supporter of animal rights. Kerstin was also a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Bedford, NH.
Kerstin was predeceased by her husband Edward, her brother Peter, and her mother and father Marta and Thor. She is survived by her sisters Viveka and Cecila, as well as her two stepchildren David Balmer and his wife Betsy, Beth Anderson-Balmer and her wife Madeline, grandchildren Melissa Brown and James Balmer, and her great grandchild Bruce.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 24 at 2PM at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, 445 Rt 101 in Bedford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kerstin’s name to either the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire https://www.rescueleague.org/ or the New Hampshire Greyhound Rescue https://greyhound.rescueme.org/NewHampshire , two organizations Kerstin regularly supported.
