Kevan P. O'Brien

Kevan Patrick O’Brien, 79, passed away on April 27, 2025, in Bow, NH, after a lengthy illness. Kevan was born on August 29, 1945, in Boston to Frederick and Mary O’Brien. Kevan was one of 9 children born to the O’Brien family. Kevan married Joanne O’Brien in 1971, and together they raised two beloved sons together.

In his younger years, Kevan was a boiler maker, a business owner, and direct support professional. During his semi-retired years, he was a funeral attendant with the Phaneuf company, which he enjoyed greatly.

He moved his family up to North Conway in the 1980s and was a longtime resident and business owner in that community.

His children fondly remember the family store he ran, as they considered it their own “candy store” to play in. Kevan was a devoted Christian who was dedicated to his faith, and an important part of his life. Kevan loved New England sports, and was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan, rarely missing a game when on the television.

Kevan is survived by his sons Michael and Matthew, daughter-in-law, Dani, and only grandchild, Fiona. He is predeceased by his wife, Joanne O’Brien, who passed away in 2021. They were together for over 50 years.

As per Kevan’s wishes, no services are to be held as the inurnment will be private. He requested to be cremated and laid to rest in his family plot located near Boston, MA.
