Kevin Thomas Dunn, 71, of Manchester, passed away in his sleep on June 9, 2022 in the care of Granite VNA Hospice House after a period of declining health.
The youngest of six siblings, Kevin was born in Manchester, NH to Arthur and Mary (Plowright) Dunn. He graduated from Central High School and spent most of his life in the Queen City. He worked for the City of Manchester Highway Department for many years before becoming a substance abuse counselor. He worked at New Horizons, Serenity Place, and Helping Hands Outreach Center where he touched many lives.
Kevin loved going for a ride whether it was the backroads of NH and Maine or cross-country trips to Arizona; and could always find a Dunkin Donuts. He was a history buff who was very knowledgeable about the American West, both factual as well as film; and was willing to get into arguments with reenactors on the streets of Tombstone when he perceived a historical inaccuracy. He cared for many dogs and cats over the years and leaves behind his paper-fetching rescue cat Chewy. Kevin was an active member of AA and will be remembered for carrying the message and being present for many people in recovery. Kevin was a dependable friend.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents and four siblings: Louise, Arthur, Richie, and Donald. Kevin is survived by his son Bryan Dunn, his brother Robert Dunn, his good friends Paula Galvin and Margo Karamanoogian, many nieces and nephews, and his many friends of Bill.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Anyone who knew Kevin will recall his words at the close of most meetings “suit up and show up.” Please reach out and help someone today. Kevin’s friends wish to thank the caring staff at Granite VNA Hospice House. The Cremation Society of NH has been entrusted with arrangements.
