Kevin J. Hurley, of Charlestown, MA, passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 28, 1950, at Boston City Hospital, he was the beloved son of the late John and Helen (Mahoney) Hurley.

Kevin was the loving brother of the late Joan Farrell, Helen “Sissy” Gallasso, John “Skip” Hurley, Catherine Halloran, and Brian Hurley.

He was the former husband of the late Carol (Singleton) Hurley.

Kevin was survived by his daughter, Christine Hurley; her companion, Bradley Feola; and son, Kevin S. Hurley.

Kevin is the loving grandfather of Kelsey Borges, Aidan, Riley, Rory, Iyla & Bree Hurley and the late William Hallahan II; and proud great-grandfather of Jonathan “JJ” Figueroa & Aurelia Judith Cardosa.

A 1969 graduate of Charlestown High School, Kevin remained deeply connected to the tight knit neighborhood he proudly called home, he proudly represented "Tuna Park” & the lifelong friendships that never left his heart.

In 1974, he began his career with the City of Boston’s Boston Redevelopment Authority until retiring in 2011 as Sr. Architectural Model Maker. A gifted craftsman, he was part of an elite group of custom-design carpenters who created the detailed, three-dimensional scale model of Boston still displayed on the 9th floor of City Hall's Model Room.

Kevin’s life was defined by love, loyalty, humility, & family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and former colleagues.
