Kevin Michael Karolian, 46, died suddenly on Saturday July 1, 2017 while swimming on Lake Sunapee.
He is survived by his father, Gary Karolian; mother, Lora Karolian; brother, Bryan and wife, Samantha; and his beloved nephews, Levi and Collin and niece, Emily. Kevin had a few cousins with whom he was very close to, as well as a tight knit group of friends who he considered family. He also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend and love of his life, Karen Maranda.
Born in Manchester, Kevin's tragic passing came at a time when his life was at an ultimate high after surviving and overcoming so many challenges in his life, including a near fatal vehicular accident in 2010. He turned his life around so profoundly, counting his near death experiences as a fresh start and chose to pursue a new career in medical coding, where he became quite experienced and successful working at both Wentworth Douglas and, most recently, Lahey Health. He was in pursuit to further his education as well. Kevin was raised a Christian and found comfort in the works and unconditional love of Jesus. Most recently, he found new life in his choice to be baptized a few years after his accident as part of his recovery, and he felt that this was his rebirth. The new beginning so sadly cut short due to his tragic and untimely death.
Kevin was as compassionate, kind and gentle of a person as you'd ever know, despite his very tough and burly exterior. He was sensitive, had a truly kind heart, an empathetic soul, and was fiercely loyal to his friends and family. When Kevin had your back, you knew that you were good to go. He was determined and fearless; truly a remarkable person who will be greatly missed by many. Simply said, the world will be a little less kind without him in it, but the skies will certainly be a lot brighter with him looking down upon us.
Arrangements: A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH.
