Lana S. Watson, 70, of New Hampton, NH, Fort Myers, FL and formerly of North Kingstown, RI died Thursday October 29, 2015. She was the daughter of the late William and Marjorie Stilson. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Watson. Lana was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her son Craig Hone and his wife Jill of Amherst, NH; son Mark Hone and his wife Leigh of Millbury, MA, daughter Robin Blake of East Greenwich, RI; and daughter Kimberly Hassan and her husband Scott of Middletown, RI. She was the loving grandmother of Alexander, Elizabeth, Isaac, Dylan, Andy, Kyle and Amanda.
Lana was a graduate of Cranston High School. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Business Administration. She worked as the comptroller of the Fisherman's Co-op of Point Judith and later in the accounting offices of Victoria Jewelry Co.
Lana maintained a remarkable quality of life despite battling several bouts of cancer and later Parkinson's disease. She was determined to live her life independently and lived each day to the fullest. During her retirement, Lana resided on Lake Waukewan and in Fort Myers, FL. Spending time at the lake in NH and winters in FL with family and friends was very special for Lana. She was active in preserving and protecting Lake Waukewan. She was a Lake Host volunteer greeting boaters and ensuring that boats launched into the lake did not contain organisms that would harm Lake Waukewan ; the drinking supply for the town. She was a member of the Laconia Friendship Club and enjoyed studying her family's genealogy and playing cards with friends.
A memorial services will be held Tuesday November 10th at 11am at the Cremation Society of NH 243 Hanover Street Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's disease Foundation.
