Landis A. Delp

Landis A. “Duke” Delp Jr., 72, of Nottingham died peacefully at home on February 18, 2004 following a lengthy illness. Mr.. Delp was born on September 27, 1931 in Lancaster, PA the son of the late Landis A. and Alice (White) Delp Sr. While in Pennsylvania, Landis was a counselor and community member for the Boy Scouts. He was a U S Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Mr. Delp worked for Sears Roebuck & Company for 20 years in Dover and Newington. He was a former Captain of the Newmarket Militia and active in the 18th Dover Colonial Militia. Duke was a mason was also the first President of Emeritus of the Nottingham Historical Society. Mr. Delp raised and trained Siberian huskies for 25 years. Family members include; his wife of 40 years, Theresa (Ragno) Delp; one son, Landis A. Delp III and his wife, Kathy of Wells, Maine; one brother, William Delp of Colorado; and two nieces. Services will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Granite State Sheltie Rescue, 30 Clark Road, Brookfield, NH 03872. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
