Larry Asa Glidden

Larry Asa Glidden, 54, of 6 Abbott Court, Sunapee, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. He was born in Staceyville, Me., on Sept. 30, 1949, the son of Stanley and Elenor (Ford) Glidden Sr. He attended Newport schools. He was employed by the Town of Newport, Highway Dept., for 22 years. He enjoyed woodworking and milling his own lumber. He is predeceased by a daughter, Tawna Glidden; his parents; two brothers, Duane Glidden and Kim Glidden; two sisters, Donna Glidden and Diane Kangas. The family includes his wife of 31 years, Cynthia, of Sunapee; a daughter, Christie Harper, of Sunapee; a son, Dustin Glidden, of Sunapee; his grandchildren, Gregory, Logan, and Zachary Harper; four sisters, Pamela Joslin and Julie Gagne, all of Claremont, Sandra Godsoe and Patricia Glidden, all of Newport; three brothers, Donald Glidden, Kenneth Glidden and Stanley Glidden Jr., all of Newport; and many nieces and nephews. Interment at New Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee and a graveside service will be held in the spring. Louise Vaillancourt officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association, PO Box 2209, New London, NH 03257. There will be a luncheon in memory of Mr. Glidden on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at at 12:00 noon at the Newport Senior Center, 76 South Main Street in Newport.
