Larry Raymond

Larry A. Raymond, 69, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 after a brief illness.

Larry was born in Troy, NH on May 23, 1948. An honorably discharged veteran, Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Following his military service, Larry was a paramedic in Rindge and Troy, NH Fire Departments for over 30 years. After moving to Nashua, NH, he worked as a wheelchair driver at Rockingham Ambulance for 10 years prior to retirement.

Larry is survived by his longtime companion, Eva Royce; son, Donny of Texas; three grandchildren, Ashley, Korie, and Julie; several siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In his spare time, Larry was an avid poet. Larry is a published author having written a book of poetry titled "Simplicity". His poems reflected his way of life by living it simply but fully. Not only will he be missed by family and friends, but also all the "puppies in the hood" since he was always there to give the neighborhood puppies a drink of water, a belly rub, and a treat.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Larry's memory to the Rindge, NH Fire Department, 150 Main St, Rindge, NH 03461, or to the Troy, NH Fire Department, P.O. Box 659, Troy, NH 03465.

Man of Simple Means

I'm a man of simple means,
I enjoy hot dogs and beans.
I don't do caviar and roe,
They serve that at places I don't go.
I don't smoke a cigar or a pipe,
That's just not my type.
I live in a trailer, in a park,
A quiet neighborhood, even after dark.
When I travel, it's not very far,
I have to get there in my old car.
At six o'clock I watch the news,
Openly expressing my personal views.
Lazy I'm not, just laid back,
I prefer that to living in the fast track.
I don't look for fortune or fame,
Though some do recognize my name.
I don't drink champagne or expensive wine,
A cold beer suits me just fine.
Everyone I meet is a friend,
False airs I need not pretend.
I get up at the crack of dawn,
And even mow my own lawn.
Fancy suits are not for me,
That simply was not meant to be.
I prefer t-shirts and jeans,
Because I am a man of simple means!!!
