Laura Britton

Laura A. Britton, 75, of Manchester and formerly of Lawrence, MA died peacefully at her home on September 3, 2002. Mrs. Britton was born on May 20, 1927 in Lawrence, MA the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Leach) Hollinghurst. She had worked as a ward secretary for Lawrence General Hospital for 15 years and then moved to New Hampshire after retirement. Mrs. Britton was a parishioner at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Lawrence. She was the widow of Alfred H. Britton who died in 1965. Family members include; three sons, Robert Britton and wife, Connie, of Wrightsville, PA, Richard Britton and wife, Joanna, of Derry, NH and Randy Britton and wife Patricia of Lawrence, MA; one daughter, Susan L. Stearns of Manchester; eight grandchildren; 13.5 great grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Hollinghurst of Fredricksburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 297 South Union Street, Lawrence, MA.
