LAURA MCCORMACK
Nashua, NHâLaura McCormack, 86, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2015, after battling a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Earle and Margaret (Pixley) Scramlin. She was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Fl until making her way to New Hampshire where she graduated from nursing school at Concord Hospital and NH State Hospital. Laura worked at Concord Hospital for over 40 years.
She was a dedicated volunteer who spent tens of thousands of hours volunteering for RSVP, one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people aged 55 and older. Laura was recognized as a leader in her community and honored as a volunteer at more than 40 nonprofit agencies in Merrimack County. She was also a member of the Merrimack County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
Laura loved quilting and mall walking. She was generous to a fault. She will be remembered for her selfless ways; always giving and only asking for love in return.
She leaves behind her sons, Edward McCormack and his wife Sheridan of Nashua, Mark McCormack of Manchester, her daughter, Susan McCormack of Concord, her grandchildren, Kristina Perry of Franklin, NH, Taylor McCormack of Nashua, and Corey McCormack of Nashua, her great grandchildren Madison and Taia Perry of Franklin, her brother James Scramlin and his wife Joann of NC and her sisters Jessie Winckle of ND and Shirley Goodmoot of AZ, she also leaves behind many other loving family members and good friends who will miss her very much.
Services: A gathering will be held on Monday, May 11th from 5pm to 7pm at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire on 243 Hanover St Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that all donations be sent to Concord City Auditorium, dedicated to keeping the arts alive and well in Concord, NH at www.concordcityauditorium.org
